The importance of a good book cover can not be overstated. Many books are read or not read due to the cover art or display of the book. With that in mind, this book has a terrible cover. Fortunately the story is not as bad as the front of the book. I always wonder how these low price stories are going to be and this one was a good surprise. Phillip van Wulven has written an unusual case for Mr. Holmes to handle. The book is well written and keeps to the era and style of A. Conan Doyle. Some parts of the book could have been developed a little better, but that is probably just me wanting more images to create in my brain. I don't know if Holmes really would have been interested in the superstition of voodoo if the health and well being of Queen Victoria was not at stake, but let us just say he would be. A nice read that will have you looking for more from Mr. van Wulven.Product details

Sherlock Holmes Investigates The Case of Lady Chatterley Voodoo Dolls edition by Philip van Wulven Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
But...although it was written very well, I just know Mr. Holmes would not have been agreeable about mysticism. He is a brilliant man who always finds the logical explanation. So that was a little disappointing. But again written very well.
If you enjoy mystery books, like I do, you will enjoy anything that has to do with the Sherlock Holmes novels. This will keep you reading until the end and keep wondering how it will end. You will not be disappointed with this book.
A great read to me, is a book I am enjoying and hate to put it down.
It is written so I can visualize the details, while not so bogged down in details that you loose sight of the story.
It almost is if I am watching a movie in my mind. I suggest a rainy day, cruise, recovery or other no rush read.
The plot was weak and not very interesting. Very superficial deductions by Sherlock. A bounty of descriptive words that lacked feeling. Felt the author used his thesaurus to heavily. Even if not based on Sherlock story lacking interest.
A well written book. The story line was entertaining. The characters are engaging and true to form. Unlike many other modern Sherlock Holmes stories, the author kept Holmes and Watson's personalities intact.
This is a very cute Holmes and Watson story. It is a quick read, but the dialogue between the two main characters is very good and that earns four stars from me. I read The Pink Jewel Conundrum from this same author and this one is substantially better, though I liked the other one also. The mystery is passable and the action moves along. This is not a 221B Baker street mystery. Holmes cuts through the "mumbo jumbo" as he puts it.
This story wasn't very good. Watson almost seemed smarter than Holmes. There weren't any points where Holmes came up with something out of thin air and it turned out to true. Just not very Holmes like. There wasn't any mystery. It was more like a chase story with not very much action. This took me about an hour to read and I kinda wish that I had that hour back for something else.
